In 2018, during an extensive traveling journey through Thailand, I captured a series of moments that I have kept in total silence until now. For eight years, these images have been decanting in my archive, waiting for the right moment to be manifested. Today, in 2026, I feel that their time has finally arrived.
The Weight of Time
I have always believed that some visions require a period of shadow before they can meet the light. These shots were not born to be consumed immediately on a screen. They needed to rest, allowing the initial emotion of the travel to fade so that the pure essence of the subjects could emerge.
Beyond the Portrait
The subjects of this series are young students, unified by their uniforms and the sacred atmosphere of a temple. However, to me, these are not travel snapshots or documentary portraits. They are an exploration of the collective and individual soul.
By utilizing high-contrast monochrome, I performed an act of subtraction. I wanted to strip away the geographical context and the distraction of colour to focus exclusively on the gaze and the inner motion of the spirit.
The Kinetic Essence
The intentional blur and the deep blacks in Souls in Motion are my fingerprints. They represent the fleeting nature of innocence and the psychological depth that lies beneath the surface of a daily ritual. Each frame is a silent witness to a presence that is both fragile and eternal.
Ultimately, these fragments are not meant to provide answers. They are designed to create an interval of quiet in the chaos of our modern perception. When I look at these faces, I am reminded that geography is just a background, but the human soul remains the only true narrator.
Souls in Motion is a tribute to the beauty of the unspoken. It is an invitation to pause, to look closer and to find resonance in the silent movement of another life.
